Greetings From …
My name is Tracy Sellers and I’m the proud owner/administrator of Ladybug Home Care. I am a mother and grandmother with over 20 years of experience in caring for others. My education began at Texas Wesleyan University, where I was a pre-med major and a psychology minor. Love, marriage, and a healthy baby girl sidetracked school in 1991; life was good. My world went into a tailspin in 1996 when my premature son was born with Reflux, asthma, and constant sinus/ear infections. Sloan (my son) needed one-on-one care, and I soon became aware of the difficulty of finding a reliable, affordable home care service. I began to dream of starting my own home care service, born of needing help and wanting to spare others the frustration and desperation of not being able to find care for my son. Unfortunately, the pressures of dealing with a constantly sick and fussy baby took its toll on my marriage and derailed my plans for starting my own business. In 1998 I went to Nursing School and in 2000 I attended the Police Academy. Working in the health care field and as a Police Officer was rewarding, but my heart was telling me to pursue my home care dream.
In 2002 I watched my grandfather tirelessly devote his heart, soul, and life to the love and care of my grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s. When the task of caring for his beloved Dee Dee became too much for just him, home health care allowed my grandfather to continue caring for her at home.
After an Alzheimer’s facility became necessary, my grandfather visited my grandmother 4 to 6 times a day; even though my grandmother had not spoken a word in years, their love remained strong. A massive stroke unexpectedly took the life of this wonderful man and spared him the pain of watching his wife pass.
Three months later Dee Dee passed and went to be with him. At the ice-covered grave site we were suddenly swarmed with LADYBUGS. Everyone who knew Dee Dee was covered with these beautiful LADYBUGS. We took this as a sign from Dee Dee in heaven that she was okay and happily with the love of her life, and that they were watching over all of us.
This sign was the inspiration I needed to finally start my in-home care company, Ladybug Home Care was born. It has been a long, hard road, but it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I dedicate my love and business to my loving grandparents and to the Ladybug.
